Not all real estate professionals are REALTORS®; this is a trademarked term which specifically identifies someone as a member of the National Association of REALTORS® who pledges to abide by a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. NAR is America’s largest trade association, representing 1.4 million members.

The core purpose of the National Association of REALTORS® is to help its members become more profitable and successful. The National Association of REALTORS® is committed to providing members with opportunities and resources to enhance professional skills and maximize earnings. Whether you’re a new agent seeking support in all things real estate, an experienced broker searching for the answer to a client’s question, or somewhere in between, as a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, you have access to a wide array of resources designed to help you succeed in today’s market. Membership in a local association of REALTORS® automatically extends your membership to the state association and national association. Members of NAR belong to one or more of some 1,400+ local associations (also called boards) and 54 state and territorial associations of REALTORS®. As a member, you are the voice for NAR — it is your association and it exists to help you increase your business opportunities.

The Virginia REALTORS® association is the largest professional trade association in Virginia. They represent 35,000 REALTORS® engaged in the residential and commercial real estate business. The Virginia REALTORS® association serves as an advocate for homeownership and homeowners and represents the interests of property owners in the Commonwealth of Virginia: “Protecting the interests of your clients is your priority. Protecting our members’ business is our priority. Representing the consumer — to lead to more favorable laws, regulations and policies for buyers and sellers. Protecting the real estate industry — to allow REALTORS® to help more Virginians buy, sell and own property.”

The Virginia Peninsula Association of REALTORS® is the voice for real estate on the Peninsula, representing nearly 1,100 real estate professionals active in all phases of real estate brokerage, development, and property management. The VPAR Mission is to enhance and promote the expertise of REALTORS@ and to protect and preserve private property rights. Their Vision statement: “We are the voice for real estate on the Virginia Peninsula.”
