What’s the difference between a real estate agent and a REALTOR®?
A real estate agent is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and assists people in buying, selling, or renting properties.
On the other hand, a REALTOR® (Re·al·tor) is a real estate agent who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), a professional organization for real estate agents. Not all real estate agents are REALTORS®, but all REALTORS® are real estate agents. REALTORS® adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice enforced by NAR. This code emphasizes professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in real estate transactions.
