The Virginia Peninsula Association of REALTORS® Charitable Foundation was started in 1994 and is dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need by providing housing related assistance and service for the residents of the Greater Peninsula. They do this through both financial and hands-on assistance to various housing related charitable organizations in our local area.
Through fundraising and hands-on volunteer efforts of the VPAR Charitable Foundation, six local community organizations listed below receive volunteer and monetary support to further their initiatives.
Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg (they build, then sell affordable homes to families with low incomes living or working on the Peninsula)
LINK of Hampton Roads (nonprofit organization helping the at-risk, homeless, veterans and mentally ill in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.)
Menchville House (a forty-six bed emergency housing facility for homeless women and their families)
Natasha House (they house homeless women with children and provides life-skill supportive services that will break the homeless cycle and promote self-sufficiency)
Transitions Family Violence Services (their mission is to build safe and healthy families by providing prevention and intervention services to survivors of family violence on the Virginia Peninsula)
Virginia Peninsula Food Bank (they distribute food effectively through collaborative efforts that minimize hunger)
